To FRA UA or LH is always cheaper than AA from the bay area. Non Stop as well!
One very big problem with AA @SFO is the complete lack of any int'l flights. UA has a lot more options for flights to the EU, in particular. ditto Asia.
If you don't mind flying via LHR, then BA is a good bet to/from SFO with 2 flights/day.
