To be honest, you'd be ok in coach - so if you're in an angle flat or just a recliner with more legroom, it'll work. It's a short flight from BOS, relatively speaking. Only about 400 miles more than BOS-SAN.

Also, I love Europe in the winter. We went to Italy this past February and it beat the piss out of any summer trip we've taken. There aren't many crowds, so you actually get to feel like you're getting away. Depending on your final destination, you're used to colder weather in BOS anyway
