Capital One does not charge a fee for using your credit card for foreign currency transactions. Foreign purchases will be converted at the foreign exchange rate in effect at the time of posting the charge.

I am not sure what "exchange rate" they use but they do not have a fee.

If I had only known this when I booked my airBerlin award ticket and paid the ticketing fee in euros but used my bank debit card! Anyway, I was forced to purchase through the Germany-English site - the US-English site kept giving me errors during redemption. But that's another topic

Anyway, my ticketing fee totaled about $27 after conversion so the FTF was no more than a buck. Still...
