Luggage guy said that it's ok to buy Tumi or Victorinox at TJ Maxx, because those are closeouts, not special lines. I can attest to that - I have a Victorinox bag that I bought at TJ Maxx a few years ago that is great (and I just bought another one to replace my husband's destroyed Samsonite).

He recommended Macy's clearance sales for Samsonite deals if you're really wanting Samsonite, although online luggage dealers probably have the better quality Samsonite stuff.

His wasn't a hard shell suitcase, it was a fabric one. Both the spinner handle and the grab handle on the suitcase broke clear off, rendering the bag unusable.
