1. Yes, the points are already taken from your account and will not change unless you try to make a change to the reservation.

2. Not sure, but I would think that the same thing holds true here as well. The award is already booked and you have the free nights. No one has ever asked to see if I still have my CC Visa when I checked into a hotel where I got the extra free night from the Visa card.
