Were they expecting you to not show and they win by default?
There was one on FT a few years ago where someone in London went with the British equivalent of the sheriff to LHR to seize assets for the monies owed when they didn't pay a settlement. It was either CO or UA, I don't remember, I can't find the thread.
Planes may be off limits, but they can always try to seize computers, furniture, ground vehicles, Toblerone bars, etc.
If they thought OP was gonna default, they should have just not showed up. I don't understand the show-up-and-concede approach in small claims court, where the exposure is so limited on default.
Toblerone bars is definitely the way to go when it comes to attaching UA's property.
