In the past month, I've opened 2 x southwest chase cards (personal + premier) and 1 x Marriot Rewards card.
I know I know, I'm new here and am ready to get some free travel!
I just tried to open a 4th card, the Hyatt Visa, but was denied on grounds of having opened too many cards recently (fair enough hah).

I had to call in to verify my identity and the rep did mention that if I wanted to close one of the latest cards, he could then approve me for the hyatt....hmm. Is it worthwhile to call the reconsideration line? Any other tips? 4 cards in one month may be pushing it I had/have 3 long standing chase cards prior to this all in perfect standing.
