Dear Mr. Anderson,
I wish to convey my displeasure with the Delta Airlines Best Rate Guarantee program. After having a valid claim erroneously denied and spending many hours in emails and on the phone with the airline's agents, I researched the flyertalk forum, a site frequented by thousands of seasoned fliers, and their consensus is that the Delta's Best Rate Guarantee is a fraud!
I have the highest respect for Delta Airlines efficiency and integrity and I am confident that this deficiency will be investigated and corrected.
Enclosed are the claims that I submitted along screen prints showing the lower fares.
Sincerely,
Are you sure you were erroneously denied? I asked earlier but hadn't seen any response: what was the exact fare code for the flight you purchased and the flight you found? I agree it's a bit of false advertising, but the terms and conditions CLEARLY state that it needs to be the exact same fare basis code along with date/routing/cabin/rules/etc.
Once Delta sets pricing for a fare basis, it doesn't change. If the price changes, it would likely have a different fare basis , even if it is the same booking class (i.e. T fare).
