Just discovered that I can get a lower fare from PBI-EWR-YYT on UA if I use the multi-city option to select the two legs involved separately (same day), than if I book it as a one-way from PBI-YYT, even though the one-way involves the same changeover at EWR, same flights. No idea why this would be, but the UA website returns fare class W if booked as a one-way, but class L if booked as multi-city. Date is Nov 21.

Question is, would booking as a multi-city result in separate baggage fees assessed for each leg? Have done multi-cities before that involved overnight stoppovers, where I would collect my bags and check them back in the next day, of course resulting in a new set of charges, but am not sure what would happen where the two legs are on the same day. Would it be possible to have baggage checked through to the final destination with just one fee covering the entire trip?
