I'm not 100% sure about the exit gate agents or the gold desk agents (maybe 99% sure ), but the regular counter agents definitely are on commission. Getting all those coverages at the desk might help you negotiate a nicer car/upgrade.

It isn't unheard of for some of the very best agents at a very touristy airport like LAS to be making well into the $200k range.
