I did not state that attorneys make bad managers (by inherent nature of their training). I stated that Smisek was an attorney, who seemingly did not pay attention to Bethune's management approach. Contrast with Bethune, who had an airlines Operations person's insights, and from many reports from employees and customers, superior people skills.

I have never met J. Smisek. I have only seen his preboard videos countless times. I do not know from firsthand experience how he deals with others. I have heard reports from UA employees and some from Flyertalk reports from some who have encountered him. I only know that UA has declined and he is where the buck stops.
