I asked about the recent split-up of MBNA and Choice, and he confirmed that they have indeed stopped offering new cards for this hotel program.

Some news:

I found the blog at Rewards Canada that mentioned the MBNA / Choice Privs split-up. Even so, as mentioned in my prior post, I still wanted to call MBNA, and confirm their decision to discontinue issuance of the Choice Privs MC.
Card #1 - saw that 24K were deposited today, Jun 17th, into Choice Privs account - card applied for in early May, activated May 21st, statement cycled Jun 12th, saw it online on Jun 13th and that it mentioned the 24K at the bottom of the statement. So, they came through on this one!
Card #2 - just arrived in the postal mailbox yesterday, Jun 16th, after applying on Jun 9th (final day of promo). Card arrived in exactly 7 days. I've gone through my share of of MBNA cards, and none have arrived as fast as this one. Anyway, will make my first +$1 purchase on this card today...looks like it will cycle on July 9th. Patiently waiting for another 24K to show up.
