I presume that the OP has a (deep) discount business class ticket. Otherwise they would have booked the JFK transcon to SEA and enjoyed the nonstop with BE-lite service. Alternatively, they could have booked the JFK-NRT nonstop and then connected further in Asia if needed, using either DL or partner flights in business class.
