I purchased £500 worth of 3v vouchers yesterday at Tesco Dalkeith. I was charged £500 and got the points added just fine.

When I got home I found that only 14 out of the 20 cards were activated and I only had 14 activation slips.

Whats Tesco's likely response when I take them back and ask for replacements.

Can they check their systems for the non activation or am I likely to get a fraud suggestion?

Is there something I need to say or do to assist me?

thanks

Tesco will tell you to contact 3V. 3V will tell you to contact Tesco.
Both will tell you to contact your credit card company.
Your credit card company will tell you to contact 3V and Tesco.

That's the very very short version - expect it to take hours to resolve.

It happened to me, they made me speak to my credit card company and then get them to confirm to them that the transaction when through - for some reason they thought i would not be charged even thought my receipt stated it was charged.
I tried to show them that some of the cards were not activated by getting them to try and put it through the till again.

In the end they gave me cash rather than the 3v, so worked out well but it took a few days for them to consult with head office- the dept concerned was shut on weekends
Just to update. It was as expected. Lots oh I don't knows etc. After about 40 minutes of head scratching and telling me that it was my fault etc A new manager came on shift. He had encountered this before

I had to identify the exact till I bought the cards at.
He then verified that the cards were not marked as paid, by checking the records of GiftCard purchases through that till on the day it was sold. He found that there was indeed a discrepancy between the record of 3V GiftCards sold that day through the GiftCard 'terminal' and the record of GiftCards sold through the till of exactly £150.

Then it became fun as no-one really knew what to do next. They tried to refund but found that the tills would not allow it.

Eventually he gave me £150 cold hard cash out the till!

In future I will make sure I get the activation slips

Not too bad as I got to keep the 450 CC points for the non activated cards
