I don't think its safe to assume that at all. Unless you are told of extension to check in times, I would assume it will close as usual and in advance of the scheduled time.

A few times I have been contacted to say check in has been extended (MIA / MCO)

Even at LHR if the flight is delayed check in still closes promptly
