Unfortunately, there's nothing to "let go" on the refare (the GBP 105). The GBP 100 is entirely waiveable and, as others note, you should request it now, then in writing and again after the journey is done. There is nothing you can do to force it, so keep it simple and sweeit. Admit fault and ask for consideration.
