since at least two months threads are regularly appearing mentioning heavy delays on the HKG-BLR route. Nearly all of them have this in common:
  • outgoing aircraft is coming from chinese destination
  • delay and queue management seems sloppy at best, incompetent at worst
  • this may well change if there is a presence of passengers from certain countries
BLR has quickly become a top destination from passengers originating in US West Coast, and many would rightfully expect a superior product, compared with the big european and mideastern carriers serving the same destinations, so the old mantra "every carrier has its own bad moments" starts to sound stale. CX has neither limitless resources available nor the advantage of a near monopoly in the continent, like the above mentioned carriers, so they should recognize the situation and make appropriate remedies, lest the advantages they still have in the minds of many is swept away by a combination of own shortcomings and the predictability of the competitors offering, no matter if service level offered is lower.
For BLR, CX is gonna take directly the route from KA, hopefully it will redress a situation that is quickly becoming an embarrassment, considering the insistence to reuse aircrafts coming from mainland airports ( and personally I think these delays are quite intentional from mainland ATC, just another way to remind HKers who's the boss)
