I was a lowly 2P for several years, and the best benefit, by far, was being taken care of during irrops. Can't tell you how many times I got out of MSN when others were stuck. Even a 2P gets put ahead of maybe half of those wanting to get onto a plane.

If your flying is such that it's split between the two companies offering low-level status, so that it would be unlikely you could earn it on your own, then maybe it could be worth it. Maybe.
