Yes that is what the ground staff was somewhat trying to explain. The incoming flight was delayed by a bit because of the weather at origin ( may be Shanghai/ Beijing not sure which one) and then the crew had to be replaced..just a bad day for KA..

But apart from the delay , the flight was pretty top-notch and extremely good. The flights were pretty clean and had nice IFE..meal service was ok-ok as compared to the long-haul HKG-SFO but overall the in-flight service was good..And I like the 2-4-2 config of the KA A330 and if you are able to get a 2 seat window and the seat next to you is vacant..makes for a very comfortable ride..
