Renting a few times every week, seems like I encounter an oversell maybe 2-3x a year (not myself but seeing others wait for cars).

Until they start charging early return fees (like Hertz) or cancelation/no-show fees (like airlines/hotels), I think the over-booking if cars will continue or even get worse since they don't have a great method of inventory management.
