My point is that while the Golden Ticket gets the crew member brownie points, I'm told by that it also gets them the opportunity to forfeit a day off (certainly in the case of Cabin Crew) in order to have a one-to-one with their line manager about said Golden Ticket.
(They can't combine a post-Golden Ticket interview with a day of standby, airport or other base duties, apparently.)
It's all down to how much the person on the receiving end wants to climb the greasy pole versus how much they value their days off.
What a rather peculiar interpretation of the programme ...
It is not for the giver to be concerned about what happens after the award has been made. Whilst one CC member here has expressed unflattering views of the Golden Ticket programme others have welcomed it for what it is.
I have no hesitation in awarding a Golden Ticket to crew or staffers who deserve it for providing outstanding service.
