While it is unfortunate that there was a delay and you missed your meeting, the language of your email to Etihad would make anyone at Etihad not want to help you. Demanding upgrade to business is silly and talking about donation to Etihad is offensive. When you buy a ticket, you agree to certain terms and conditions which define your rights. You can't just demand upgrade to business and at the same time offend the airline with comments on donations. Having said that, sometimes passengers maybe entitled to compensation if their flight is delayed but i'm not sure if this applies if you offload yourself from the flight.
