As I understand it, DL's basic wide body configuration in that cabin is now 1-2-1 (just as AA's is or will be) while UA's is 2-4-2 and on the relatively better upper deck of its 747s, it's impossible to get out of the window seats if your "neighbour" is in full sleep recline!
I flew JFK-MXP-JFK in late April on a DL 764 with the 1-2-1 Lie flats and they were awesome (the trip just wasn't long enough for a full night sleep with the meal service). I just wished I would have had my GUCs last year when I flew MSP-SIN-LAX on a DL 777 in EC.

Anyhoo, I haven't flown* any other airline other than NW/DL/KL since 2008 (last flight on another carrier was on UA but they put me on a NW flight out of the old IND because I was going to misconnect in ORD due to the delay. I then started flying to STL for my next assignment and NW gave me SE status# after about 8000 EQMs...anyhoo, I digress.). But, I want a healthy UA as well as a healthy AS...and all the rest. Prices have been creeping up due to the lack of competition. Oh, and, DL's customer service rocks! I'm sure being DM helps.

*I should have said I haven't flown on any other than DL or NW ticketed flights
#I had no status with any airline at the time and always chose the cheapest flight no matter what the layover time was...rookie still...also thought all the people in F actually paid for F. LOL
