It seems that my only choices are
1). flying air France the entire way (through CDG) to AMS
2.) flying delta from ATL-CDG. Then air France from CDG-CPH
3). Flying delta from ATL-AMS. Then KLM from AMS-CPH.
Times and prices for all are essentially equivalent.
Any recommendations on which airline/route to choose?
First and foremost, make sure the ticket will get you MQMs and MQDs (so you actually reach FO). I guess as long as the itinerary is ticketed as 006 DL stock, you're good.
Secondly, connecting via AMS vs CDG. Everyone has their own opinions, but I would lean toward AMS.
Lastly, seating. Important to some (like me), but not to all. Which flight ex-ATL has the best available seating? Usually people will plan and book international travel quite a bit in advance, so occupied seats are not likely to open up. Do you like window or aisle? Do you want to purchase an EC seat? Also, I'd be more concerned about seating on the TATL than the intra-Europe.
