As much as I love Juneau (I live there), our restaurants suck. BIG TIME.

"nice dining experience" in Juneau is the equivalent of a Chilis or Applebees. Except the fish is like REALLY fresh.

The only place that takes reservations in town is the Sandpiper and the Gold Room at the Baranoff.

The Hangar will provide good views, but honestly the restaurant at the Prospector hotel will have even better views and without the all the tourists and planes flying by.

there's also the restaurant at the top of the tram on Mt. Roberts. Its nice enough that's where the next MVP Gold lunch is being held (on the 20th). Remarkably I will be backpacking in way north California or I'd go and report back on that restaurant..... (I've never had food there).

CoCo's is the new restaurant at the Goldbelt, it replaced Zen, one of our better chinese places. Not sure about the menu or anything yet.

Saffron is across from the Baranoff and is a very good indian restaurant.

The Rookery has some really good dinners as well... and its "very" authentic Alaska-hippy style eating. (ie - you can do the vegan-nongmo-non-dairy-glutenfree type stuff).
