Do medallions starting from a non-hub/non medallion heavy airport stand a better chance of getting upgraded on all segments of a connect flight, than those starting from a hub/medallion heavy location ?

For example flying from say GRR>ATL>DFW give you a better chance of being upgraded on both segments than if you fly DTW>ATL>DFW ?

I doubt it would, but have never seen it asked ?
