I have looked at the National Express but it does not get there until 11:40 so that is not an option.
Am I missing an option? Is there another bus?
Cabs are so expensive all the way from here. Is there a car share option that might be cheaper?
thanks you for your help.

If you can wheel your luggage and can get as far as the London-bound platform at Southend Central/Southend East, then the public transport option really isn't hard. All you have to do is change at Barking (the other side of the same platform) onto a Richmond or Ealing Broadway District Line train, and then change at Barons Court (again on the other side of the same platform) onto a Piccadilly Line train. Total fare £14.60 as opposed to about £90 in a minicab.
ETA: Simulpost with stut! West Ham is a bit quicker but the change at Barking is easier as long as the train comes into platform 5.
