OP seemed pleasantly surprised by the level of service on the DFW route in particular, so I simply added that I believe AA standard Hawaii Flagship Service is actually a good product on all of its continental U.S. to Hawaii routes, particularly considering that they're mostly leisure routes (although that likely explains why the menus don't change). I'm glad he enjoyed it.
