I am sure the long haul flights are being squeezed down. They will gauge the revenue from an award flight (or a mileage UG) vs the amount being bid for an op-up.

This will also allow them to more accurately gauge how much to oversell Y and PE. Instead of going to op-ups, they will just go further down the bidding list.
