Bose is a great company. I had a pair or QC3s for 5 years, needless to say warranty was we'll beyond expiration. I got a brand new pair of QC15s (yes, completely different headphones) for $50 as long as I sent my old ones back that were having what sounds like similar issues as your headphones OP. Call up Bose, they will take care of you.
