I also just attempted to check-in on AA.com for AA-operated flights tomorrow and no upgrade option was available to me either during check-in or afterward by attempting to change my seat. The AA EP desk was pretty useless (agent didn't even know upgrades were being offered yet) and did everything she could to get me offloaded to someone else. I'm now on hold with another department and I'll stay on the phone with them until someone explains what is happening.
