The food was more reasonable (and better) across the street at Ventana. We had a great time in Big Sur but the Post Ranch Inn was a bit of a let down.
Completely agree with you: we also had dinner at Ventana one evening. The fixed menu was almost half the price (75 $ pp, excluding wine) and food was better. Too bad Ventana does not have the view of the Post Ranch Inn (or I would stay there next time I am in the area).
