Would an AUP at MIA generate those 210 TP? I've searched and found different answers to this question
By the sounds of it you have booked this as one PNR? It would be most unfortunate if you have since particularly to LAS it would best to fix a routing with US, get both 270 TPs (via CLT for example) for a fairly modest cost and get their double Avios bonus. There's no connecting flight benefit for one PNR on AA. You can't ditch the AA legs since that would invalidate your return. You could try splitting the booking so you could then ditch the LAS-MIA return section if that is more than 2 weeks away. The cheap First tickets on AA and US need 2 weeks notice, with more expensive ones on stream until a week before departure.

Do not upgrade for cash on AA: you won't get TPs for that. You can get the AA equivalent of AUP via a kiosk check in, but TPs do not accrue for the upgrade. There are multiple threads on this particular tale of woe!
