I couldn't agree more with your assessment. We stayed there last year, the rooms, while have stunning views, are in dire need of an upgrade. The service was mediocre and the food way over priced. The food was more reasonable (and better) across the street at Ventana. We had a great time in Big Sur but the Post Ranch Inn was a bit of a let down.
