This is not technically possible in any Reservation system except Amadeus. Even if you had used an Amadeus travel agent to book your DL flight, DL's version of your record would end up in separate PNRs in this case.
Yep, the only way I can get it to work is making two separate PNRs. I guess you could always call in and have them linked, but that only does so much. I guess you'd have to weigh the pros and cons:
One PNR:
*All in the same class, either Y or J
*Everyone would get free domestic EC/50% off int'l EC
*Two checked bags for everyone
*All together in the event of IROPS or other trouble

Separate PNR
*Different classes of service
*Y pax get one free bag and you two would get 3
*Might be able to get EC for everyone, but most likely only for 1 person
*Separate PNRs in the even of a problem
