Basically, was qualifying that you don't need that many mileage runs to achieve Diamond Medallion (with the "bonus" of gaining some redeemable miles); since you can take care of a bunch of MQMs with Delta AMEX credit card products (hence, not requiring flying that many miles; mileage run or otherwise to achieve said status level).
edit to add : BUT, one might argue, that achieving Diamond Medallion is "very valuable" based on the Global Upgrades (4). I'd say they are worth "at least" $4,000 +/- so perhaps, this is some extra incentive for Mileage Running to achieve Diamond Medallion.
