According to the June 10 Longboat Key Observer, "The Longboat Key Hilton Beachfront Resort is no longer a Hilton." And, "Ocean Properties Vice President Andy Berger told the Longboat Observer in January that to keep the Hilton flag flying on the property, renovations had to begin by June 1, and that hasn’t happened. A search for the property currently shows it rebranded as Gulfside Beach Resort and still taking reservations, so I don't know what's happening with the planned renovations. But, it does appear that Hilton is gone from Longboat Key.
That is too bad. I only stayed there once but it was a great property in a great location.
