Aware of that. But MQMs are status miles, not redeemable miles -- which would mean they are not flying DL just for earning redeemable DL miles.
I consider myself reasonably plugged into how far the game has been pushed, but the days of people flying DL to just earn redeemable miles seems over AFAIK. In years gone by, flying DL merely to earn redeemable DL miles was definitely happening. If that happens now, it'd have to be a rather extraordinary, very rare situation where it makes any sense for anyone -- something like a glitch fare with some kind of promo applicable and various other conditions applicable.
If you know any relatively rational actor that has flown DL merely to earn redeemable DL miles, I would love to ask them some questions and learn from such a master of the MRing game.
