I've never booked an AA itinerary before (I'm much more familiar with UA, BA, and WN), so I apologize in advance for my naivety.

Thanks to the Citi Executive offer, my wife and I have over 775k AA miles and we'd like to take a trip to Hawaii in the next 6-9 months (dates are extremely flexible, but preferably during cold weather here in Michigan, so Nov-Mar). I hope looking right now isn't too late, instead of right at 11 months out...?

We'd like to book Business/First, and it looks like two of the better route options are ORD/DFW --> HNL. With ORD being a seasonal flight, any suggestions as to when I could find this flight and what type of availability there might be for it? Are either of these routes available at the SAAver level, or are they only AAnytime? Either way, we'll ultimately need to get 2 passengers (no status) from GRR to either LIH (preferred) or OGG. Very little SAAver availability shows up on my initial basic searches, and when I try multi-city searches, it appears to charge by segment (is this normal?).
