I just booked 3 weeks (except for weekends) in Westin Nanjing this July. Yesterday I saw a great rate on expedia and jumped on it.

Now I am having seconds thoughts, because I did not think through every aspect, like the internet. 50CNY for internet per day, no way am I paying that for 3 weeks! I would get free internet in Intercontinental, where I have soft Platinum, but I have no status at all with Starwood.

I hope this was the right choice and that the Westin is a better hotel than the IC. If anyone stayed in both recently, can you compare?

And does it have free wireless in the lobby? How is the fitness center?

I have very little experience with Starwood. My husband is a Marriott hard plat (80-120 nights a year) so we've been pretty much sticking to Marriotts and Ritz-Carltons, as there are a lot of perks, lounges, upgrades, free breakfasts, etc. But no Marriotts in Nanjing yet, so have to venture out and try other brands.

Btw, I'm paying for this out of my own pocket. The company is providing us free accommodations near John Hopkins, but it is kind of dingy, with mold in the bathroom and not really non-smoking. I have a lot of trouble staying in a smoked before room, so I'm paying for hotel myself in hopes of getting a stain-free carpet, no cigarette smell and no mold and having a nicer experience during this stay in Nanjing.
