I had stuck some cash on my card before I left the UK and decided to withdraw $200 at the Bank of America ATM in United's terminal 7 at LAX.
The slot at the bottom opened but the notes became jammed, dispensing only $60, and leaving me $140 short.
BofA were not interested, even in closing the ATM when I called them -as told to do on the machine. The operator of the Cash Passport have had me fill in a long form for a 'disputed transaction' and will let me know 'soon'. How long that is going to be is anyone's guess, they suspected several weeks.
So, the lesson is - don't depend on your Cash Passport - make sure you have enough cash for your trip just in case you have the same problem.
you have the same issues whether its a cash passport card or any other ATM card
only once have I been short changed by an ATM machine
I made a claim for the shortage (£100) through my bank/card provider who then contacted the ATM owner
my claim was rejected as it was said that the ATM balanced and showed no signs of me not being paid what I asked for
my advice to people is to try and ensure you use ATMs which belong to Banks (which it seems you did) and not use independently owned stand alone ATMs
I lost £100 so I will be keen to know how your case goes
