I notice almost all AKL-BHE flights have now moved from BEH to Q300, which is definitely an improvement in comfort for those longish prop sectors. Nice to get a cuppa and a biccy as well. If the extra capacity and efficiency also managed to translate into a few more cheap seats, then my joy will be complete!

I've heard that a few times, i.e. that the Q300's fuel burn isn't dissimilar to the 1900. Does anyone have any data to back that up? If it's true, it seems extraordinary that anyone would ever run a 1900... though I supposed in the case of the Q300 you also have to shell out for the cost of another crew member.
