Read thru the DC hotel thread but didn't find a comparison of the JW Marriott vs the new Marriott Marquis DC.

We are planning a girls weekend mid July and and get the JW at $159/night and the Marquis at $100/night (both prepaid). TripAdvisor reviews are mixed for both. I'm aware the JW would be more convenient for our tourist activities in the Nat'l Mall area and both are easy to get to the Metro (also heading to a Nationals game).

Any thoughts/suggestions? On previous visits we've stayed at the RC Pentagon City and like the property and convenience to Metro but would like to stay in the city this time.
