I had a flight out of gate 210 at LAX three weeks ago -- there was no sign at Admiral's Club (that I saw) advising that I should get to the gate early. 20 minutes before the flight, just as I was putting my stuff together for the three-minute walk to gate 45, an AAgent came running up to me and told me I had to hurry to the gate, that everyone but me had boarded. He didn't mention the remote gate, but I hustled down and saw that, indeed, I was the last one boarding, via the bus, which had two other passengers on it.
Fortunately, the remainder of my journey to the remote gate went smoothly, but yes, watch out for these special boarding experiences at LAX, which I was told will last for at least another six months. There are about 16 flights a day using the remote terminal, I was told.
