So, United 747s have some of the worst dispatch rates fleet wide, but yet, they operate very safely. So what is it that they always go mechanical, yet there has not been any incidents safety wise with the 747s?
One you get them airborne, they great... "Queen of the skies," a captain once called ours, flying from ORD-HKG. But the UA 747 maintenance philosophy seems to be more reactive than proactive for the past few years, with predictable results. Years of complaints, cancellations, or major delays seem to have made no impact.
