The only difficulty with DL is that often times, I would have to book a double connection, as afternoon / evening flights from DTW-DEN are hard to find. It's usually BGM-DTW-SLC-DEN... it would be faster for me to drive to EWR and hop on the direct flight.

The other option that works well is ELM-ORD-DEN.... I have done this one a few times and had no issues at all, but there are only 2 flights per day... 6:00am and 6:00pm.... if I want to leave midday from ELM, I am in the same situation flying DL as I would be in BGM.

As for NY, I am in agreement that SYR or ROC would be better.... but if I open my options to them, which are a couple hours away, I should just open up the option to drive to EWR and have a direct flight. Why.... oh why do I have to fight the battle with these smaller airports. They are so convenient and easy to access.... but the planes rarely make it!
