I can't answer your question regarding how long the Q200s have been in service, but I felt compelled to post given that I live in the WAS area now and grew up in BGM. I personally miss the SF3 that used to do the route, but I love older louder turboprops

Anyhow, not sure if you know or not but UA is actually abandoning this route this Summer and replacing it with EWR - BGM, which 1) Is a bummer for me, as my only nonstop option is gone and 2) Is, as far as I am concerned, a recipe for disaster. I fear that these will be the first flights to cancel when WX strikes and if you take a look, history shows that BGM - NYC has been tried many times, with DL being the most recent, and he route always gets cancelled eventually. I know that before DL tried it, US Express served LGA, CO served EWR and TW served JFK.

Anyhow, I am in complete agreement that DL is the way to go for you. Plus, you will be getting jet service to/from DTW. Sadly, they are now the only airline to serve BGM with jets anymore . I miss the old days of US F100s, DC-9's and 737-200s. Okay, I'll stop waxing sentimental now!
