I apologize if this is a silly question, but I'm new to British Airways and couldn't find an answer for this.

I've found a flight to India that is competitive with flights to Europe via British Airways. The flight to India also has a stopover at LHR and so I thought (perhaps naively) that I could combine the two trips for comparable costs.

I reviewed the fare rules and they seem to permit an LHR stopover and yet I can't seem to get it to work (the price increases ~$200+). I don't know if it's the length of my trip (leaving in September, stop over in Europe until November, on to India in Dec.). I don't see any other restrictions..Any ideas?
