The 10kg weight limit on AC has been around for as long as I can remember.

Be careful what you wish for. As much as I dislike pax who bring onboard a kitchen sink or three pieces of hand baggage, I'd hate to see an overly strict enforcement of the rules.

I've said it many times before, but IMO a strict enforcement of the rules doesn't make a huge amount of sense.

Do you really want agents harassing everyone - incl. SE and J pax - over a 11kg carry-on or a rollaboard that's 1-2" too wide? I definitely don't.

My opinion is that both pax and agents should be "reasonable", i.e. a rollaboard that fits in wheels first and a personal item that fits under the seat in front of you should be fine even if it may not exactly comply with the measurements. If a pax is an idiot and tries to bring onboard thrre oversize pieces and a bunch of duty free stuff, sure make them check their stuff.

I'll admit that my carry-on falls into the above category: a rollaboard that's probably 1" too wide and 1-2kg too heavy, and I very much appreciate the fact that AC agents don't make a fuss about it.
