Trying to find an answer to this but it involves all the big 8 chain hotels and there is no one definitive thread to find this answer.

I recently status matched my Le Club Accor Platinum (earned) to Best Western Diamond and was accepted. It was a painless process and tempted me to further status match with other hotel loyalty schemes. At the moment, I paused my status match to ask:

1) How long does the status last in theory? Is there an expiry date?
2)How long do experienced FT members have had their status matched with elite hotel programs?

The big 8 hotel programs I am referring to are

- Accor Hotels
- Best Western
- Club Carlson
- Hilton HHonors
- Hyatt Gold Passport
- IHG Rewards Club
- Marriott Rewards
- Starwood Preferred Guest
